Getting Back on Track

What will happen… you will get off track from time to time. We have to be prepared for these times so we don’t spiral or become self defeating.

I am speaking from experience, this week was a tough one. I know I have said it before (and I will say it again), it was tough. Photoshoot was pushed a week, right up between a business trip and a kids birthday celebration. I had to figure it out, moving with the flow of traffic and found myself feeling exhausted and behind on all the things I thought HAD to be done in the moment.

I fell back to my toolkit, list goals, prioritize them and lay them out over the week. Break it up in to small manageable bites then have at it. First on my list was to rest and recuperate from the chaos that was the past 7 days. I took time away from it all for just a couple hours to take a deep breath and think about how far I have come and how I have overcome so much to get here. Then I prioritized sleep over TV shows or laundry or anything else, I had to get my head on straight to be any good to anyone.

It is completely okay to feel like life has taken over and you are just blowing in the wind. Take a moment to realize where you have come from and give yourself credit for where you are. Family overflows on to everything, the job will some times demand more of your time and that act of self fulfillment you have been working toward may feel like just another thing to do, but know that you have dealt with the ebbs and flows before and you can do it again now.
